Italo Ferreira, the Olympic and World surfing champion from Brazil, finished his run at the Teahupoo stage of the 2026 World Surf League season in the semifinals, losing to Hawaiian Seth Moniz. Despite this, Ferreira leads the WSL rankings after seven of thirteen events this season.
